These ranger led hikes explore the far reaches and least explored parts of the park. You Must be a current member of the FCRSP to attend and advanced sign up is required. Please call the park office for details.
Meet at the Ticket Plaza in the Chimney Rock attraction.
Join us as we explore a new trail in the park! This strenuous 4.6 mile round trip hike will follow the Weed Patch Mountain trail from the top of Eagle Rock to Flapjack Rock inside the Town of Lake Lure's Buffalo Creek Park. On this hike you can see excellent views of the north face of Rumbling Bald Mountain as well as Lake Lure and Youngs Mountain.
The hikes are free for current Friends members, and advanced sign up is required. Chimney Rock State Park annual passholders may attend for a donation. Please call 828-625-1823 to reserve your space today! Space is limited.
Please wear appropriate shoes and clothing for tough mountain terrain and variable mountain weather. Bring plenty of water, snacks, & a lunch. Programs are scheduled but ending time may vary based on the abilities of the group.
